Johnathan Paul is a 3rd year graduate student in the University of North Texas Media Arts program. His 2nd year film, the short documentary Hustler of Providence is currently in consideration at the New York City Independent Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Telluride and Austin Film Festival among others.
He has recently been nominated for the IDA David L. Wolper Student Documentary Achievement Award and the Kodak Student Scholarship Award for his work as director of Hustler of Providence. This last nomination was submitted by Eugene Martin whose film Rosa was an AFS sponsored project. Johnathan has also worked on several other films such as Fields Where We Play, Unconventional and the documentary film Don’t Frack with Denton.
Johnathan is the co-founder of Datalus Pictures a production company he started with six fellow UNT Alumni, who aim to grow film production in the DFW area and the State of Texas.
